Poppy and James gave me this ‘Longline Lounge Wrap‘ from Country Road with a little bit of help from their Dad.
I am certainly looking forward to ‘lounging’ around in this baby!

After months of frustration with my iPhone 4S and persevering with it randomly dying mid-text, needing to charge it twice a day and running out of memory, I have finally upgraded to an iPhone 6.
I was hesitant to change as I had a beautiful Il Bisonte Leather iPhone Card Case that had developed a gorgeous patina over the past 3 years. I guess I will be on the lookout for a replacement now!

Happy Mothers Day!
On Saturday afternoon we decided at the last-minute to go away on the boat and rolled out of the marina at 5pm. We have just bought Nick’s parents boat – Spellbound, and this was our first family night away. Staying in Shag Bay we were on the doorstep of Hobart but tucked inside this beautiful little bay on the Eastern Shore, we could have been anywhere.
I loved hanging out with Poppy and James on Mothers Day and made it special for me with Poppy exclaiming:
Mummy, you are the best Mummy ever and a really good cooker!
We picked up Sam and Scarlett on Sunday morning at Bellerive and hung out in the autumn sunshine drinking take-away coffees and eating bakery goodies.
I am forever humbled by this journey of Motherhood and continue to learn more and more from my children. I wouldn’t swap it for the world! Xx

Whilst I am still loving all things Danish, today I am loving this gorgeous Bambi Chair made by Elements Optimal Denmark. The good news is they have just arrived in Australia at Top3 by Design. We all love a bit of Bambi right?
A delightful object that appeals to the delight of the child in all of us! A whimsical pice of furniture for children or as an object of desire.
The Bambi Chair is an object made from the heart – a true sculpture of fine art. It is produced from solid European oak and American Walnut. The fabric seating is made from nylon (faux fur).

Late last year one of my Adventure Guiding students asked to speak to me in my office. I wasn’t sure if he was going to seek future employment advice, to ask for an extension on his assignment or to check up on his recent results? I was pleasantly surprised when he mentioned his Mother was supervising a PhD student recently arrived Denmark, who had come to Tasmania for 6 months with her husband and 3-year-old daughter. George asked if I wouldn’t mind contacting them as they didn’t know anyone in Tasmania who had children.
I met Vibeke, Brian and Julie at the Nutgrove Playground on a windy Sunday afternoon in January. These Scandinavians were easy to spot in the playground – blonde, beautiful and fit. We chatted about Tasmania and my love of Danish design and crime dramas (Borgen, The Killing, The Bridge and The Legacy) as Poppy and Julie played, despite their language differences.
Since then, we had caught up on several occasions over dinners at home; celebrated Vibeke’s birthday and enjoyed a day out on the water.
Last Thursday they returned home to Denmark and I was really sad to say goodbye to these new-found friends who were an absolute pleasure to be around. We will miss Brian’s funny faces, Julie’s sweet nature and Vibeke’s contagious smile, but know deep down that we will meet again. ✈️ xx

This is how our house in Hobart feels right now as we have just installed a Heat Pump and I am in love! Living in a house that was built in 1942 has the benefits of a solid home with a tonne of character but unfortunately also the downside of cold winters.
For the last 7 winters we have shut down a portion of our living room and survived with panel heaters but the house just never had that ambience that makes you feel warm and cosy.
Not anymore as it is now a balmy 21°C and I am ready for the Hobart winter and all it can throw at us this year! Bring it on! X

My sister Cath gave Poppy this gorgeous book for her birthday – COME WITH ME TO PARIS. Written by Gloria Fowler and illustrated by Min Heo, it is an absolute beauty, with colourful illustrations that would make the most devoted Francophile weak at the knees and jump on board the first Air France flight to ‘Paree’. 💋💋
This charming rhyming book is a great introduction to the sights and culture of Paris. The book begins by inviting the reader to come along on the journey and ends with a good night wish:
“Paris is a beautiful city in France; Please come visit, should you have the chance.
“The French call it Paree, and there is so much to see; Come with me and you’ll see: it’s a great place to be!
“At the end of our trip, au revoir and bonne nuit! Je t’aime my dear one, and je t’aime to Paree!”
Colorful and whimsical illustrations feature well-known landmarks such as: The Eiffel Tower, The Palais Garnier, The Louvre, Sacré-Coeur, Sainte-Chapelle, Notre Dame, the Luxembourg Gardens, the Arc de Triomphe, and more.

You have to love a wedding where there is a designated photo booth, complete with an array of props. Sam and Chris certainly took it up a notch at their recent wedding in Orford.
The photos got more and more interesting as the night continued on! Xx
