I am hoping this little fella will make you smile on this Monday morning! Xx
From This …

To This …

What a transformation!
James was 3 weeks old in the top photo and only weighed 3 kilos, and now at 17 weeks Mr Spotty is sporting quite the physique! Thank goodness for good old Mama’s milk!
Home Sweet Home

It turned out that poor Poppy had a ruptured ear infection so it was no wonder she was out of sorts last week. A good dose of antibiotics has done the trick and she is (almost) back to her sprightly self. She laid low with her Dad over the weekend, whilst James and I went back up to Hagley to spend time with my Mum and Dad.
Even though I am firmly ensconced in my life in Hobart, there is something about returning ‘home’. I feel this every time I go back to our family farm … this beautiful place where I was very lucky to grow up.
I went for a wander yesterday morning and it brought back many memories of my childhood. Of the treehouse perched in the big oak tree, to the maze of cubby houses in the hay shed, to the bike jump built on the side of the dam wall that seemed so ‘Evil Knieval’ at the time and now through adult eyes is nothing more than a mere rise on the surface and to learning to drive when you were still in single digits.
I can’t wait to share all of these adventures with Poppy and James and to be able to give them the ‘rough and tumble’ experience of farm life!

Postie Procrastination
I don’t know about you, but I find I really struggle to get to the Post Office to send off particular packages. I am a shocker when it comes to sending my nieces and nephews birthday presents. I buy the present on time, which is wrapped diligently and then the poor neglected gift travels with
Deer Me

My sister Cath gave me this gorgeous handmade card for my birthday from The Birdhouse Collection. I loved the deer on the front and I instantly envisioned a craft project!
After a trip to Spotlight with James asleep in the pram, I picked up an Embroidery Hoop and tried to find the perfect fabric to showcase the deer. Just as I was entering the patchwork collections, my little man had other ideas and decided to wake. I couldn’t concentrate on trawling through the many fabrics, so I retreated home with my hoop.

I found some red and white spotty fabric in my sewing cupboard and ta dah … this is what I created:

What do you think of the spots? I am not 100% convinced as I’m not sure the fabric provides enough contrast to showcase the deer?? I might have to revisit Spotlight!
Our Little Bear

Our little bear is 11 weeks tomorrow! James is growing up far too fast and it feels strange to be packing away those 0000 sized clothes for him, and breaking out the 000’s. He has recovered well from his Bronchiolitis after a week of hunkering down out of the weather, with lots of sleep (and cuddles).
I am chuffed because I have just bought the Mountain Buggy Travel System which is an attachment for our pram, that enables you to clip the capsule from the car straight to the pram. Oh my god – it is a godsend. I haven’t had to disturb him during his sleep and it is so nice seeing him right in front of you.

On another note, Poppy is slightly obsessed with taking photos with my iPhone. These are some of her latest – quite artistic really! Those poor passengers. Xx

Merci
I came across this gorgeous photo online of Minnie Mortimer’s daughter – Tuesday in Paris.
I am so looking forward to all the travelling opportunities in the future with Poppy and James and certainly hope that Paris will be on the list. We can then pop into the fabulous store – Merci!
(Sorry no recipe today – I haven’t cooked anything exciting this week). Xx
Five Years
Nick and I have been married five years today! Time certainly does fly since we met almost seven years ago and now we have a dog, two children and a mortgage. We certainly fit into a clichéd demographic, but I wouldn’t swap it for the world. A few more wrinkles and a lot less partying,
Indecision
I am right in the midst of a ‘nesty’ mode at home, and have been busy in the past couple of months planning our new bedroom renovation, before our baby arrives in early August. Poppy is going to move into our existing room, whilst the new bubba will move into her room. We are doing
Vale Bob McMahon
It was with deep sadness that I attended the funeral of Bob McMahon in Launceston today. I worked with Bob at Tasmanian Expeditions in the late 1990’s and Tasmania has certainly lost one of its true characters. Bob was such a vivacious man who touched so many – I can still hear his infectious laugh.
