I am sure this doesn’t meet the specifications for responsible parenting, nor the strict guidelines of safety standards for a child’s ‘toy’ … but Poppy LOVES her Dad’s dust mask. Hours of entertainment on those long car trips!
Lots of Love ♥
Today I am thankful for many things:
- My Dad is recovering well from his heart operation on Tuesday ♥
- Nick was unfortunately made redundant two weeks ago and is starting a new job on Monday ♥
- We are buying a new (second-hand) car today ♥
- I am feeling many reassuring kicks from our ‘Little Possum’ and have made it half way through my pregnancy! ♥
- Poppy is a constant delight, especially when she points to Emily Blunt on the red-carpet in an InSytle magazine and says: “Mummy”! ♥
Sneaky Peek : Spotty Scarf
Here is my new winter scarf that I bought from Country Road in Melbourne. I love those spots!
My Dad’s operation has gone well. My Mum and I went to see him in ICU last night which was a little confronting, but he is in very good care. xx
Vintage Bally
Unfortunately I have no recipe today, but I do have a set of spunky legs in this gorgeous vintage Bally poster.
On another note, my dad is having a major operation in Hobart today. We all look forward to hearing of his progress this afternoon. ♥
Little Apprentice

Poppy and I donned our aprons on Saturday morning and made a Date & Banana Loaf. She was incredibly helpful (albeit a little messy) but we manage to get the mixture into the loaf tin and turned out this beauty! She was proud as punch. x

Big City ♥
I love Melbourne … the culture, the food and the fashion!

Cath and I are having a wonderful time in the ‘big city’. Unfortunately our friend Neil didn’t give us his best on Wednesday night, but it was fantastic to eat at our favourite, the Chocolate Buddha; walk along the South Bank, go to IKEA and enjoy the city. Not to mention the obligatory shoe shopping!
Sneaky Peek :

My sister Cath and I fly to Melbourne this afternoon to see non-other than Neil Young with Crazy Horse at The Plenary. I am so excited.
I saw ‘The Grandfather of Grunge‘ way back in 1993 when I was living in Vancouver with my good friend Jana. Back when big hair and oversized jumpers were in fashion!
I have always loved his music, but I must admit I haven’t ‘rocked’ on to Neil for a while now. I am looking forward to hearing his iconic voice and all those classics again after all these years.
I am flying home on Friday night, which will allow for a spot of ‘retail therapy’ and catching up with my in-laws and dear friend Bron. Can’t wait.

Yum : Tomato Relish
As promised last week here is my Tomato Relish recipe. I have used the recipe from Sally Wise’s book A Year In A Bottle. Due to the amount of tomatoes I had, I doubled the recipe but I think I stuffed up the quantities, as my relish turned out quite runny. 😦 I was also cooking under
