Yum : Italian Leather

Unfortunately I have been a little busy for any baking so no tasty treats for you today. I do however have a different type of yummy treat to share with you … non-other than beautiful Italian leather!

My trip to Melbourne included the obligatory visit to Hunt Leather and I couldn’t resist adding another Il Bisonte bag to my collection.

The Colorado

A small bag, in cowhide leather of the highest quality, to be comfortably worn over the shoulder or across the body. Thanks to its mini-size and to its fresh and casual style, it becomes the perfect accessory for travelling or for the city.

The Perfect Break

IMG_7960

My three days in Melbourne with Melissa were sublime!

It was a real luxury to step out of our busy lives to immerse ourselves in a city we love, where we could roam the alleyways, experience sumptuous food, look at beautiful fashion and most importantly … laugh!

I arrived home on Saturday evening to a sleeping toddler, but it was so nice to see Nick and then Poppy the next morning.  She even asked:  “Nice holiday Mummy”?  Daddy may have prompted that question.

On Sunday we went  to T42 for breakfast and then a ‘scoot’ around the docks.  I love being away, but it is so nice coming ‘home’.

Food Glorious Food

I told Poppy yesterday morning that Mummy was going on a holiday with Melissa to Melbourne, and she kept repeating: “Poppy holiday with Richard & Luka?” (Melissa’s husband and son). She even got her wheely ‘ladybug’ suitcase out and packed her jacket and an orange. Bless.

Melissa and I had a lovely day yesterday. Our introduction to our gastronomic weekend was the beautiful Vietnamese food at Miss Chu.

We ended the day savoring the Spanish delights at MoVida and in between enjoyed a spot of shopping!

We are about to have breakfast at my all time favourite – The European! Bring on those Clotted Cream Pikelets with Maple Syrup! Well I am eating for two – ha ha!

Mini-Break ♥

Today I am loving that I fly to Melbourne with my friend Melissa, for three whole days!

Our toddlers are left in the safe hands of their Dads and I am beyond excitement with the thought of eating sumptuous food, wandering through urban alleyways, ogling beautiful fashion, musing at a Monet, staying in a hotel and having some ‘time-out’ with a dear friend.

Melissa and I have collaborated on an itinerary and have come up with our favourite jaunts, which include the following:

Ititnerary

Tonight I am also looking forward to our reservation at MoVida and indulging in some tasty Tapas.  Mmmm … excited!

Sneaky Peek : Why?

Last night Poppy started with the dreaded ‘why‘ questions!    I was asking her to come and put on her pyjamas after her bath and her response was plainly:  “Why?” Any ideas or strategies on how to deal with Miss Intrigue??

This was our menu:

  • Fresh Fruit Sorbet
  • Herb & Garlic Dip
  • Potato & Leek Soup
  • Pizza Bianca
  • Chicken Veloute
  • Custard
Yum!

Faux Pas

I made a massive faux pas on Saturday afternoon, and one that I have learnt from! Poppy and I were heading down to the yacht club to meet Nick and some friends for an afternoon cruise on the boat!  I had strapped Poppy in her car seat and realised I had left my camera in

Shopping Spree … not!

Yesterday, Poppy (and her pigtails) and I went into Hobart to meet my dear friend Melissa and her son, Luka.  I was very brave as I didn’t take a pram for her, but she did very well – insisting she hold onto Luka’s pram. However, we did come slightly unstuck when we went to the

Baby ♥

All this talk of pregnancy and expecting another bubba in August, has me reflecting on Poppy as a baby.  Here she is with ‘Gordy’ at six months old.

Sneaky Peek : Kick Kick

It is such a joyous journey to be pregnant, and one that I am thankful for every day. It is difficult to comprehend that one day, this little person inside of me will give us as much joy as Poppy does now. As I go about my normal ‘day-to-day’ tasks such as cooking dinner; teaching
