FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out)

Hi, my name is Larni and I suffer from FOMO! Even though I am at the most settled part of my life and cherish my days with Poppy and Nick, sometimes that little FOMO tug pulls a little too hard. For example, I was driving home at the sensible hour of 4:30 pm on Friday

Little Mummy

Poppy still LOVES her dolly that her Nanna and Pa gave her for her first birthday.

Dolly is constantly wheeled around in her pram (chasing Maisy), having numerous outfit changes and most importantly … being fed.  Such a little mummy.  Bless.  xo

Jimmy Giggle + Santa

Poppy an I went along to her first Christmas Pageant on Saturday!  At first she was quite overwhelmed with the amount of people, loud band noises and crazy floats. She finally warmed up and ended up waving her flag madly.

We were quite excited to see Jimmy Giggle from Giggle and Hoot and of course, the main man of the moment … Santa!

When Nothing Goes Right

I had one of those days when nothing goes right – like Poppy’s new t-shirt ($5 from Cotton On – bargain)!

  • I hung the washing out on the line, only for the heavens to open minutes later.  Grrrrrr!
  • The plans were released for the house to be built on the vacant block next door.  Mmmmm?
  • I am selling my old iMac computer and have to transfer 4789 photos onto our external hard drive first – and the computer kept crashing.  Hmmmph!
  • I was cooking dinner and spilt chicken stock all over the floor.  %#*@$!

Luckily, all I had to do was look at Poppy and her chubby little legs and everything was fine!

Heads Up

Obviously it is only natural to take photos of your baby’s face … and as you have seen there are many, many of Poppy’s little face.  But there is just something about the back of her head that I love as well – her little curls, tufty hair and soft, soft skin on her neck:

Lightsabers + Lawn Mowers

This week Poppy has been unwell with Croup.  We have had a couple of days at home and quite a few sleepless nights … yawn!

However, she found the energy to fend off Darth Vader with her Lightsaber, mow the lawns, do a spot of shopping at Bunnings and read a book or two!

Poppy is in heaven!

Last week our good friends Keith & Lil, dropped off this kitchen for Poppy as their children had outgrown it.  Poppy has been cooking up a storm since then!

I came downstairs to find Poppy had raided our pantry – obviously she needed more ingredients for her kitchen:

Moon River

Yesterday it was a rainy, miserable public holiday for the Royal Hobart Show, and so we all stayed at home.  Nick lit the fire and we enjoyed the odd waltz to Frank Sinatra’s Moon River!  Lovely.

Baby Chinos & High-Heels

Poppy has only turned 18 months but she is quite the young lady.  Over the course of the weekend she was seen swanning about town enjoying baby chinos, and even managed a few steps in a pair of high heels!  Oh My.

My sister Cath was visiting us for the weekend, hence the visit to my favourite cafe – Fullers Bookshop.  I had never given Poppy a ‘baby chino’ before but Cath and I were looking forward to a relaxed coffee together and so a little diversion did the trick (apart from having to wipe up all the mess).

Cath was volunteering at Save the Children’s Pop Up Party at Princes Wharf on Saturday morning.  I took Poppy along and she enjoyed the helium filled balloons, the lucky dip, the stickers and she even caught a fish!

Poppy spied Cath’s high-heeled Mary Jane’s and thought she would test them out!  What do you think about this look – pyjamas, nappies AND Mary Jane’s (patent leather non-the-less)?  xox

One Year + Half

Our little cherub is 18 months old today!  How time flies?

I was trying to ‘snap’ the perfect photo of her next to her ‘POPPY’ name, but she wasn’t being very obliging, not like this at 10 days old:
