Each day Poppy amazes me with the sentences she now articulates. In the past month her comprehension and speech has expanded by the day. Yesterday we were stuck in traffic on our way home and Poppy was waving to the lady in the car next to us. I mentioned that it was really nice to

Peggy
My brother and his family gave Poppy this delightful book for her 2nd birthday. ‘Peggy‘ by Anna Walker is her favourite book at the moment.
This is the story of a brave chicken on a big adventure.
Peggy lives in a small house in a quiet street.
One blustery day a big gust of wind sweeps down and scoops up leaves, twigs and . . . Peggy!
The wind blows Peggy into the city, where she discovers strange new things, but how will she find her way back home?
I love reading Poppy this story as the illustrations are so beautiful. You can even purchase them here.

Baby Max

Yesterday we had a visit from Eve, Flynn and baby Max who is two weeks old today.
Poppy insisted on ‘carrying him’ and so with a little bit of help she had a hold and was very gentle. She kept saying: “cute“.
This was good practice for Poppy who will have her own little brother or sister in about 10 weeks! Oh my – that sounds so close.

Faux Pas
I made a massive faux pas on Saturday afternoon, and one that I have learnt from! Poppy and I were heading down to the yacht club to meet Nick and some friends for an afternoon cruise on the boat! I had strapped Poppy in her car seat and realised I had left my camera in

Shopping Spree … not!
Yesterday, Poppy (and her pigtails) and I went into Hobart to meet my dear friend Melissa and her son, Luka. I was very brave as I didn’t take a pram for her, but she did very well – insisting she hold onto Luka’s pram. However, we did come slightly unstuck when we went to the

- 1 large apple – thinly sliced
- 60g sugar
- 250g strawberries – hulled and sliced
Method
- Place all ingredients in a saucepan and cook until soft
- Whizz in a blender or with a stick mixer.

PS: I neglected to download these photos from my iPhone from Mother’s Day. Poppy bought me a beautiful ceramic platter!

Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day for yesterday!
Unfortunately I didn’t get to spend the day with my Mum, but I did speak to her. I did however get to enjoy my role as a Mum and spent the day with our beautiful little girl. Nick enabled me to have a ‘sleep in’ and I got up at 9.30 am! Bliss.
For the rest of the day we hung out at home – in the garden and in her room. Poppy loves her swing under the falling autumn leaves and playing peek-a-boo with Maisy. Such sacred times. xx

Autumn Afternoons
Autumn has arrived – it’s time to pull out the Ugg boots, pull on the gumboots, make warming soups and put on those roll neck jumpers. The light is soft, the trees are changing colour, the leaves are falling and there is a calling to ‘bunker’ down and hibernate! x

Little Princess

I picked up Poppy from day care the other day only to find she had transformed into a little “Princess”! She loves her ‘crown’ that she decorated herself and insists on wearing it constantly. There was a slight struggle at bath time the other night when she refused to take it off! Oh dear.

I might need to get crafty and make her a more permanent one like this:
