It’s that time of year again where our old gang get together for our ‘tongue in cheek’ sporting event – the Peter Stuyvesant International! In its seventh year, Saturday the 14th of December 2013 was a decathlon and included the following (well we were two sports short but hey who’s counting?):
The ‘Raqueteers’ (Nick, Alex and Pete) took out the trophy this year and Rob won the ‘Best Dressed’ gong for those pink shorts and that mo!
The highlight of the day for me was seeing Aimee, who is 8 months pregnant giving it her all in the Tug ‘O War! Hilarious. Xxx

Today is my 500th post on The Poppy Files!
What a wild ride it has been since my first published post on the 25th August of 2011 when Poppy was only four months old. I still love documenting my daily musings, the growth and development of our children and family adventures shared.
Bring on another 500!
Xx
I love our morning cuddles in bed! Have a happy weekend. Xxx

We have been busy over the weekend – visiting parks, the Salamanca Market, Parliament Lawns and just hanging out at home!
Unfortunately James has regressed with his sleeping at night, waking 3 – 4 times for his Mummy’s cuddles and the milk bar. Hmmppphhh – I need to give him some tough love as he certainly isn’t wasting away to a shadow.
What I would do for a full night’s sleep!?

I am currently drawn towards clothing that is either spotty or stripy and without realising – James, Poppy and I all had stripes on yesterday!

Poppy was even channelling the double strip ensemble when she came home from care on Monday, as her other pants got wet! Mmm – now that might be pushing the envelope a little too far?

Summer is finally here … and Christmas is just around the corner!
I was keen to instigate the tradition of an Advent Calendar for Poppy this year and started looking on Pinterest for inspiration. I came up with the idea of using paint samples and so after a visit to my local hardware store to surreptitiously collect the colours, I was underway.

I kept the sugary treats to a minimum and invested in stickers, rubbers and little toys instead. With the use of wooden craft pegs I attached the paint sample and treats to the red and white cord strung between our internal doors, with Nynke Green indicating Santa’s arrival.

I don’t think I have really nailed it though because my friends that have popped over have all asked what am I planning to paint?! Boo hoo!
I think I need to add numbers and a couple of sprigs of holly to really get into the Christmas spirit and make it obvious! What do you think?

We were in Launceston for the weekend to stay with Nick’s parents and to catch up with my family. I love ‘going home’ and always feel happy to be back.
We took Poppy for a scoot around City Park which is one of my favourite parks and stopped by to see the monkeys and the ducks. X
