Thank god for the sunny weather this week, as I have been having bouts of ‘cabin fever’ with my baby routine!
Even though James is nearly 10 weeks, I am still in the ‘fog’ of feeding, changing nappies, soothing, trying to get out of the house, cooking and sleeping. Not to mention attending to Poppy’s growing needs and stimulation.
The jump from one child to two has surprised me actually. I thought James would just ‘fit in’ to our family life, and he has, but it is a juggle. I find I have to put in the big deep breaths when James is screaming as he is tired or hungry and Poppy is refusing to put on her socks and shoes! Mothers certainly are so very patient!
There is light at the end of the tunnel however – James is now stretching out his feeds at night which enables me to get more sleep. Last night he went to bed at 7:00 pm and didn’t wake until 1:30 am for a feed, and then again at 5:30 am. I love it when he only wakes twice at night, as opposed to three times.
I know this is all quite boring to discuss but it is my world at the moment but will change so quickly in the big scheme of things. Before I know it, he will be tearing around with his big sister … and sleeping through the night. Ahhh!
I found this article quite interesting!
