Yum : Apple Crumble

This recipe is another family favourite and one that I just love.  Try it out – a perfect desert for a cold winter’s night.

Apple Crumble

  • Granny Smith Apples – peeled, quartered and finely sliced
  • Sugar
  • Vanilla concentrate

Topping

  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • Butter

Method

  • Wash, cut and peel apples
  • Bring to a slow simmer with a little bit of water, a sprinkle of sugar and vanilla concentrate until soft
  • Pour apples into a large pie dish
  • Mix together dry topping ingredients and rub in enough butter to form a ‘crumbly’ consistency
  • Pour topping over fruit and cook in oven (150c) until slightly brown on top
  • Serve with cream and enjoy each tasty morsel!

I don’t even have a photo of the final product as we ate it too quickly!
