This recipe is another family favourite and one that I just love. Try it out – a perfect desert for a cold winter’s night.
Apple Crumble
- Granny Smith Apples – peeled, quartered and finely sliced
- Sugar
- Vanilla concentrate
Topping
- 1 cup plain flour
- 1 cup shredded coconut
- 1 cup brown sugar
- Butter
Method
- Wash, cut and peel apples
- Bring to a slow simmer with a little bit of water, a sprinkle of sugar and vanilla concentrate until soft
- Pour apples into a large pie dish
- Mix together dry topping ingredients and rub in enough butter to form a ‘crumbly’ consistency
- Pour topping over fruit and cook in oven (150c) until slightly brown on top
- Serve with cream and enjoy each tasty morsel!
I don’t even have a photo of the final product as we ate it too quickly!
