Every year our group of friends have an annual sporting event called The Peter Stuyvesant International, sponsored by none other than Peter Stuyvesant (yeah right!). It has been happening since 2007 with a game of tennis. Next followed croquet in 2008, table-tennis in 2009, Beach Volleyball last year and this year – Badminton.
It is a very social day and a lovely way to catch up with old friends. There is however, the odd sporting prowess and competitiveness displayed. We have an Opening Ceremony performed by our Master of Ceremonies – Macca (and those red shorts!) and an official presentation of the trophy at the end.
This year Sammy and Rob took out the tournament in true sporting style.
There are whispers of lawn bowls for 2012!
