Last night I went along to listen to author, Steve Biddulph on Raising Girls. I found it a very interesting presentation that was indeed, thought provoking. The message that struck me included the concept that children these days have three parents – the mother, the father…and the television! Children are bombarded with so much media – apparently 40% of teenagers in the UK fall asleep with a remote control in their hand. It was quite frightening to hear some of his stats.
He also spoke of the important relationship each parent has with their daughter – the mother provides security, whilst the father provides self-esteem and confidence.
