Happy Winter Solstice

The shortest day of the year has arrived – happy Winter Solstice. I have always loved winter – especially when you get the opportunity to go snowboarding! We won’t be hitting the slopes this year unfortunately, but here is a shot from my trip to Whistler in 2007. Ah the Canadian tree runs – bliss!

A Cyber Hit

I have realised I have a problem – I am obsessed with receiving emails!

I get such a buzz when I hear that reassuring ‘beep’ on my laptop, alerting me to a new message.  Of course my excitement wanes when it is a boring e-newsletter, or some other site I subscribe to, as opposed to a message from family or friends.

I realised my obsession when my email account was on the blink for a week and after numerous phone calls to Telstra, my anxiety was rising.  I was missing my ‘cyber hit’!

Do you also have the same problem, or am I the only kooky one around here?

Good Morning!  How gorgeous is this image from Love Nordic?  That beautifully designed Egg Chair by Arne Jacobsen in 1958.

I would love to curl up here on a winter’s afternoon with a book and a cup of tea! xx

Your Comfort Zone

I found this fantastic diagram and below quote from the site: Babes in the Backcountry.

From the day a person is conceived they begin to grow.
This growth is supposed to be a natural process throughout our lives, yet, many people reach a plateau as adults where they choose to stop growing. This is a stagnation of our character and learning of essential life skills. But we choose it because it is “comfortable”.

Now think about some of the greatest and most joyous moments in your life. Were they while you were idling in your comfort zone?

There is no magic and no life growth happening if you are only living in your “comfort zone”!
