I have just been up to Hagley to visit my family on “Mill Farm“.
Taking James ‘over to the dam‘ this morning is a walk I have done a thousand times growing up on the farm. All those small details along the way that are so familiar, yet so beautiful in their own right – the twisted barbed wire fences, commanding silos, combine harvesters, the tractor I learnt to drive on when I was 10 (an International 434), rusty corrugated iron, post and rail fences, the historic mill, fat lambs and Angus beef cattle.
I love this land and I love sharing it with Poppy and James … our little city slickers! Xx
