Poppy had her first Ballet Recital last night! There was so much excitement surrounding this performance, with a mad dash to pick her up from care, get her all ‘fluffed up’ and ready backstage by 5 pm.
It didn’t help that I couldn’t find her tights anywhere that morning and after turning her room upside down, dashed to the ballet shop at lunch to buy another pair! I also received a call from James’ daycare with news his ear had perforated. 😦
Ballet tights in hand, I left work early to pick up James and take him to the doctor. Poor little fellow – he was very miserable and I was surprised that he was totally captivated by the sea of pink on stage for the numerous acts. The Panadol and anti-biotics had obviously kicked in.
Our little ballerina did a stellar job with her fellow ballerinas. I felt a little emotional as I watched our big girl on stage with her big ears and twinkle toes!
