Bag Baby

As I mentioned in a previous post, Poppy, like her Mum seems to be obsessed with bags.  She is especially taken with my il Bisonte leather bag and wallet!

For years, I have treasured my leather bag collection and would save for trips to Melbourne, where I would savour the moment of walking into Hunt Leather in Collins Street.  There is just something about the intoxicating smell of expensive leather items, from far off lands.

When we were in New York 18 months ago, we actually went to the il Bisonte concept store in Soho.  I was in heaven and almost hyperventilated seeing all the delicious leather items for sale.  Needless to say, I couldn’t resist and invested in another bag that Nick chose for me.

In the past, I have marvelled at my friends who would give their bags/wallets to their babies/children to play with.  I naively thought to myself: “I would never let my children play with my expensive bags” and look here, our little Poppy – going for it!

Motherhood has certainly given me a different perspective on life, and what I value.  That said…I still do LOVE my leather bags.  xx

The girl shows promise – in years to come the three of us can talk bags and accessories (Il Bisonte / Louis V). Soon it’s time to give her her first handbag – Il Bisonte of course or at least Hunt Leather!
