Mini-Break ♥

Today I am loving that I fly to Melbourne with my friend Melissa, for three whole days!

Our toddlers are left in the safe hands of their Dads and I am beyond excitement with the thought of eating sumptuous food, wandering through urban alleyways, ogling beautiful fashion, musing at a Monet, staying in a hotel and having some ‘time-out’ with a dear friend.

Melissa and I have collaborated on an itinerary and have come up with our favourite jaunts, which include the following:

Ititnerary

Tonight I am also looking forward to our reservation at MoVida and indulging in some tasty Tapas.  Mmmm … excited!

Baby ♥

All this talk of pregnancy and expecting another bubba in August, has me reflecting on Poppy as a baby.  Here she is with ‘Gordy’ at six months old.

Layby ♥

Today I am loving these winter outfits.  Each morning I really struggle with what to wear, as my pregnant tummy of 27 weeks keeps on growing (in fact I read yesterday that our little bubba has doubled in size in the last month – no wonder I am so tired)! As you read here in January,

Smitten Merino ♥

large-8404

Today I am loving local brand Smitten Merino.  As the temperature takes a little dive in Hobart, I am pulling out all of my winter woollies, which consist of Smitten Merino.  Owners Carl and Nic are an amazing couple who I met professionally several years ago.  Each year my Adventure Tour Guiding students are equipped with a Smitten Zip Neck Top to get them through their studies and we have been extremely happy with the quality of the tops. Check out my testimonial here.

Smitten Merino produces premium super fine merino wool clothing and outdoor thermals.

Authentically Tasmanian, we understand rapidly changing weather conditions and the need for base layers.

Our clothing range includes t-shirts, wrap dresses, tops, leggings, crew shirts, hoody’s, zip tops, cardigans, skirts, yoga pants and even underwear for men, women and children.

Spun from premium merino wool our clothing is soft, light, form fitting and easy to care for – giving you a little piece of luxury that looks and feels right.

100% of our wool is sourced from local premier wool growing regions and driving our business is a passion to produce Australian made garments that are natural, sustainable and environmentally aware. Our manufacturing is all done within Tasmania.

Today I am loving Poppy’s new beanie from Cotton On.  What a beauty – and a necessity as the days get cooler here in the south!  You can never go wrong with a pom-pom.

Aimee ♥ Rob

Beautiful bride

Apologies for the lack of blog posts this week.  We currently have our friends Bron and Jerome staying with their two children and have been too busy hosting to do any posting!

On Saturday, Nick and I were honoured to celebrate Aimee and Rob’s wedding at Piermont Retreat in Swansea.  We had such a nice weekend together.  Poppy stayed with her Aunty Cath in Hobart and we had a leisurely drive up Tasmania’s East Coast (well I was with my ‘rally’ driver husband, but leisurely in the fact that we didn’t have to pull over numerous times to meet Poppy’s needs)!

Aimee looked absolutely stunning as she walked down ‘the aisle’ with her Dad and their whole wedding was a treat!  Beautiful people, wonderful scenery, croquet, Jansz and amazing food.  We danced until the wee hours – until I could barely walk in my high heels anymore!  Congratulations Aimee & Rob. xx

Today I am loving these Pantone Easter Eggs!  So stylish but probably not as tasty as this little fella:

I will have a break from The Poppy Files over the holiday period.  Happy Easter to you all and I hope you get to savour some chocolate!  Xx

Lots of Love ♥

Today I am thankful for many things:

  • My Dad is recovering well from his heart operation on Tuesday
  • Nick was unfortunately made redundant two weeks ago and is starting a new job on Monday
  • We are buying a new (second-hand) car today
  • I am feeling many reassuring kicks from our ‘Little Possum’ and have made it half way through my pregnancy!
  • Poppy is a constant delight, especially when she points to Emily Blunt on the red-carpet in an InSytle magazine and says:  “Mummy”!
